Chinese Ambassador, Chairman Pakistan-China Institute launch Chinese Language Association at NUML

Beijing, Nov 20: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong & Chairman, Pakistan-China Institute launched Chinese Language Association at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) here on Tuesday.


The prominent  guests launching ceremony were Ambassador of People’s Republic of China, Sun Weidong, Chinese Cultural Counsellor, Zhang Yingbao, Chairman, Pakistan-China Institute ,Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Rector NUML Major General (r) Masood Hasan, DG Brigadier Azam Jamal and other officials and dignitaries from within and outside the university.


Senator Mushahid Hussain speaking at launching ceremony said that Pakistan-China Institute is also making its modest contribution to Chinese language learning, as well as broadening understanding of China through such publications as 'Nihao Salam', 'Youlin Magazine' (which also has the first Pakistani website in Chinese), starting Chinese language classes in cooperation with Roots School of Faisal Mushtaq for Pakistan school-going students.


He also appreciated the services of Professor Zhou Rong, an eminent Chinese scholar and journalist, who has been giving voluntary lessons on Chinese language teaching to staff of Pakistan-China Institute.


The ambassador Sun Weidong, speaking on this occasion, said that history of Pakistan-China all-weather relationship is six decades old and each student who is learning or have learnt Chinese language here in NUML guarantees the durable and time-tested relations in future as well.
