Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Secretary-General of the Pakistan Muslim League, has dubbed his long relationship with China as a romance. He says ‘I have a romance with China I have witnessed the robust transformations of China over the past decades”.

Mushahid expressed these views in a short video documentary about rising China which he has seen during his 60 trips to China in the last few decades. The video documentary was broadcast on China’s CCTV.

Senator Mushahid Hussain is also Chairman of Pakistani Parliamentary Committee on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a strategic project of China’s One Road One Belt initiative. He said, under the vision of Deng Xiaoping, a Chinese revolutionary and statesman in 1980, China emerged as a different developing country and as a result of his reforms; there was transformation of policies for good governance and prosperity for the people.

“We should learn lessons from the experience of Chinese model to make Pakistan an economically and technologically developed country,” he said.
