China provides US$ 1.5 million for flood affected people

China provides US$ 1.5 million for flood affected people

China on Monday provided US$ 1.5 million cash assistance for the flood affected people in Pakistan.


Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Sun Weidong handed over the cash assistance certificate in a formal ceremony held at Economic Affairs Division (EAD) here in Islamabad, said statement issued by EAD.


The certificate was signed by Chinese Ambassador and Secretary EAD, Ms. Nargis Sethi.


The assistance has been provided as a token of friendship between the  two countries as both countries have been always pioneer to come to the assistance of each other in natural calamities and disasters, it said.


The Chinese Government is monitoring the situation and is ready to provide all possible assistance to the government of Pakistan.


Speaking on the occasion Secretary EAD thanked the Chinese Ambassador on behalf of the government and said that the present government has embarked on  the policy of further deepening the current friendly relations between the two countries.


She specially mentioned the vision of the Prime Minister regarding the Pakistan-China economic corridor which is future of the economic activities in the region.
