PCI Annual Report Launch receives wide coverage

At the PCI Annual Report 2013 launch, Pakistan and China came together with the usual effect; show of good will, appreciation and commitment. The charismatic Ambassador of China, His Excellency Sun Weidong along with his charming wife, graced the event, along with a host of other key figures in Pakistan-China nexus. Senator Mushahid Hussain, Founder and Chairman of PCI, succinctly briefed about PCI’s one-of-its-kind projects and in particular, numerous activities conducted in the year 2013 by this premier think-tank on Pakistan-China.

Chalking out plans for the New Year, the Senator enthusiastically referred to new initiatives which include a book project on Pakistan-China friendship, the first-ever Urdu travelogue on Xinjiang by leading travel writer, Mustansar Hussain Tarar, the launch of online teaching classes in Chinese language, and Trilateral Dialogue between think tanks of China, Afghanistan and Pakistan in May 2014 in Islamabad. He underlined that PCI would bring the youth, women, media, academia and think tanks of the two countries closer together.

The PCI Annual Report launch received instant and wide acclaim. The ambassador warmly met the PCI team and lauded the endeavours Pakistan China Institute in enhancing all aspects of bilateral relations by leaps and bounds, particularly those of Senator Mushahid Hussain in galvanizing new initiatives to promote people-people contact. Furthermore, leading local and international press gave an astoundingly wide coverage of the event. From Xinhua News, People’s Daily and CNTV of China to Dawn, Express Tribune, Daily Times and The News of Pakistan, among many others, were observed to be appreciative of PCI’s role in strengthening Pakistan-China relations.
