PCI to participate in the New Silk Road Dialogue

The International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China is collaborating with the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province to hold a China-WANA Dialogue on “Vision for Future Development” between May 27th and 28th, 2014 in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. Delegates from governments, political parties, think tanks and business chambers of 22 different WANA countries have been invited to participate in this dialogue. The Executive Director of the Pakistan-China Institute, Mustafa Sayed, shall be making a speech on, “The Pakistan-China Economic Corridor and the Asian Century”.
The theme of the dialogue is “Reform for Development, Cooperation for Win-win”. The three subtopics for discussions are: reform and transformation in WANA, the Chinese Dream and WANA’s vision for future development and opportunities and challenges in future cooperation.
According to the International Department of the CPC, the purpose of the dialogue is to facilitate a deeper understanding and friendship between China and countries in West Asia and North Africa (WANA) and to learn from each other’s governing philosophy and development lessons. The delegates will share their development vision and explore opportunities for cooperation between China and WANA countries. The dialogue is expected to promote a pragmatic cooperation between China and WANA.
In addition to the dialogue, the delegates will visit the Yiwu enterprises and Yiwu International Trade City. There will also be a business dialogue on “Yiwu—the Starting Point of the New Silk Road” to promote business activities and facilitate business contracts.
