China to set up two coal-based power projects of 1,320MW in Thar

China is to establish two coal based power projects of 1,320 megawatt in Thar.

An agreement to this effect was signed by Shanghai Electric China and Private Power and Infrastructure Board in Islamabad on Friday.

Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif, who was also present on the occasion, said the agreement is part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. He said China will make an investment of two billion dollars on the two power projects to be completed before 2018.
